Hain Celestial puts U.K. business on selling block

Private equity firm reportedly in talks with organic food giant

France-based private equity firm PAI Partners is reportedly negotiating with The Hain Celestial Group Inc. to acquire its U.K.-based operation, Hain Daniels Group.

Lake Success, N.Y.-based Hain is an organic food manufacturer and marketer (NASDAQ: HAIN), which owns the Earth’s Best organic baby food, Celestial Seasonings tea, Rudi’s Organic Bakery, and BluePrint cold-pressed juice brands, among others.

According to a report by Britain’s Sky News, Hain Celestial has been in talks with PAI Partners for “several weeks.”

The Hain Daniels subsidiary manages several brands including Robertson’s marmalade, the New Covent Garden Soup Company, the Hartley’s jams range, the dairy-free brand Dream, and Gale’s, the honey products, and Mary Berry-branded desserts in partnership with the former Great British Bake Off presenter.
