Organic hemp food brand partners with organic ingredients co.

Applied Food Sciences to market new Hemp Heart Protein, Hemp Heart Oil products

Victory Foods PBC dba Victory Hemp Foods (VHF), a producer of organic hemp foods, said Thursday it has entered into a strategic partnership with Applied Foods Sciences Inc. (AFS), a supplier of organic ingredients to food manufacturers.

Louisville, Ky.-based VHF, founded in 2016, produces packaged and bulk organic and non-organic hemp oil, protein powder, flour, and de-hulled seeds. All VHF’s products are certified Non-GMO and Kosher and are offered as natural or certified Organic.

Austin, Texas-based AFS was certified organic by Organic Certifiers Inc. in 2016. The company’s products include PurCaf Organic Caffeine, AmaTea Organic Guayusa Extract, PurCaf Organic Caffeine, PurCL Organic Turmeric Extract, PurC Organic Amla Extract, PurGinger Organic Ginger Extract, PurTea Green Tea Extract, and PurTea Organic Caffeine.

Under the terms of the partnership agreement, AFS will focus on marketing and selling VHF’s two proprietary ingredients, V-70 Hemp Heart Protein and V-ONE Hemp Heart Oil, which will launch in July.

AFS will also provide technical support, including formulation expertise, and customer service, allowing VHF to focus on boosting its processing infrastructure and supply chain.

A request for more information regarding any change in ownership at VHF was not immediately returned.

“AFS has a well-earned reputation as a leader in the food ingredient space for the development of functional ingredients and working closely with their supply chains to scale them sustainably for all stakeholders,” said VHF founder and CEO, Chad Rosen.

“As hemp continues to earn a more significant role in U.S. agriculture, and the demand for plant-based proteins continues to rise, we recognize the opportunity to develop new ingredients that can fully utilize the industrial hemp plant to deliver novel high protein ingredients,” said AFS CEO Loretta Zapp.
