Organic, natural food giant adds ex-Pepsi exec to board

Hain Celestial also signs Trugreen CFO to board

The Hain Celestial Group, Inc. said it has added two board members, both veteran consumer packaged goods executives.

The organic manufacturing giant said the two additions include Richard Beck, a 23-year-veteran of PepsiCo, where he “established the company’s global operations function,” and Michael Sims, the CFO of lawn care company Trugreen.

After leaving PepsiCo in 2016, Beck, 61, founded Biltmoore Consulting, where he advises clients in operations, supply chain optimization, logistics and general management.

Prior to joining Trugreen earlier this year, Sims, 60, was CFO at AdvancePierre Foods, a supplier of value-added proteins and sandwich products to foodservice, retail, schools and convenience channels, for six years until its acquisition by Tyson Foods, Inc. in 2018.

Beck will serve as a member of Hain board’s Audit Committee and the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee and Sims will serve as a member of the Audit Committee and the Compensation Committee.

The two board additions increase the number of board directors to nine.
