Ardent Mills LLC, the nation’s leading organic wheat flour producer, said it has launched a new division focused on organic, specialty grains and plant-based ingredients.
The Denver-based company, with a commitment to double organic wheat acres by 2019, maintains eight certified-organic mills, with six certified by Oregon Tilth (Nebraska, Illinois, Utah, Minnesota, and two in Colorado) and two in Oregon certified by Organic Crop Improvement Association.
Ardent Mills produces a variety of organic wheat flours including all-purpose, cracked, bread, pastry, durum, and whole wheat as well as organic spelt.
The new division is called The Annex by Ardent Mills, which will be based in Denver and will work with North American growers predominately to develop new uses and selling "what’s next” in whole grains, pulses, mixes, custom multigrain blends and finished breads. Its portfolio includes ancient and heirloom grains, organic, sprouted, pulses and barley.
